Learners will build core skills and knowledge in:
π Dispensing medicines and handling prescriptions
π Working safely under pharmacy regulations
π Managing stock and storage of medicines
π Providing excellent customer and patient service
π Understanding health and well-being needs
π Supporting the pharmacy team and registered professionals
π Following procedures and maintaining accurate records
Training is delivered in line with the Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship Standard and meets the requirements of pharmacy settings in both community and hospital environments.
Assessment
Learners will complete a Gateway Review before their End-Point Assessment (EPA), which includes:
Knowledge Test β a multiple-choice exam to assess understanding of pharmacy practices and procedures
Observation with Q&A β a practical observation in the workplace with follow-up questions
Professional Discussion β based on a portfolio of evidence demonstrating competence in the role
Successful apprentices will be awarded the Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship Standard, recognised across the pharmacy and healthcare sectors.
